Usage Instructions & Important Steps
!!! CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING: Always perform a strand and patch test 48 hours before application to check for allergic reactions and to see how your hair will respond. Do not skip this step !!!

Preparation:

Do not wash your hair 24-48 hours before relaxing. Your natural scalp oils provide a protective barrier.

Do not scratch your scalp.

Gather all kit contents and wear the provided gloves. Have a timer ready.

Part hair into 4-6 sections for easy application.

Application Process:

Apply Protective Base: Using the applicator brush, carefully apply a thick layer of the Protective Base (Step 2) to your entire scalp, hairline, ears, and neck. This is your most important defense against irritation.

Mix & Apply Relaxer Creme:

Follow the kit’s specific instructions for mixing the relaxer creme if required.

Starting with the back sections (which are often the most resistant), apply the No-Lye Relaxer Creme (Step 1) about 1/2 inch away from the scalp and work it through to the ends. Avoid applying directly to the scalp.

Important: Process the new growth only. Do not repeatedly overlap the relaxer onto previously relaxed hair, as this causes severe breakage.

Once all new growth is covered, you can quickly smooth the relaxer through the ends for the last few minutes of processing if they need straightening.

Time It Carefully:

The total processing time is short, typically 10-15 minutes for fine hair. Do not exceed the recommended time. Check your hair’s straightness frequently by smoothing a small strand. Hair should be straight but not bone-straight or mushy.

Rinse and Neutralize THOROUGHLY:

When time is up, immediately rinse your hair with warm water for several minutes until all relaxer cream is removed.

DO NOT USE REGULAR SHAMPOO.

Apply the Normalizing Shampoo (Step 3) and lather. Rinse. Repeat this lather-and-rinse process at least 2-3 times as directed. This is essential to stop the chemical action completely.

Deep Condition:

After thoroughly neutralizing, apply the Conditioning Conditioner (Step 4). Leave it on for the recommended time (usually 3-5 minutes) to restore moisture and softness. Rinse well.

Post-Relaxer Care:

Wait at least 1-2 weeks before coloring your hair.

Use a deep conditioning treatment weekly to maintain moisture.

Avoid excessive heat styling and always use a heat protectant.

Wait until you have significant new growth (typically 6-8 weeks) before your next relaxer touch-up.
